Today Show Host Sheinelle Jones Goes Natural on-air

Many Black women consider their hair to be their crowns, yet struggle to embrace their curls due to social stigmas and hassle. Today Show co-host Sheinelle Jones' story about wearing her natural hair at work is one that we relate to. In an essay published by Today.com, she admits that she was nervous to embrace her natural hair on live television, but since filming the morning show remotely due to the pandemic, felt there was no better a time to showcase her curls. "I just looked at a picture of myself when I was a little girl. Wearing my natural hair at 42 years old, I see the same girl in the mirror. It would’ve been kind of cool [when I was a little girl] to see someone on the news who had my hair, and I hope I can offer that to little brown girls I may never meet," Jones shared. Yes, representation matters! Here's to showing the world our beautiful curls & kinks!
